The POPIA and PAIA Awareness Training Workshop covers the POPI Act’s/POPIA’s contents i.e. the 8 conditions and associated sections. It also includes the impact on key business areas such as Finance, HR, Homeowner/Resident Services, Customer, Procurement and Information Technology. In addition to this, it will cover key aspects of the relationship between POPIA and PAIA. The duration of the training workshop will be between approximately 3.5 hours. The workshop can be provided via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Onsite depending on your requirements.

To provide an understanding of contents and impact of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI Act or POPIA) and the relationship with the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA).

What is the duration of the workshop?
The workshop has a duration of approximately4 hours. It is normally scheduled to take place between 09:00 and 13:00.
How is the workshop delivered?
The workshop is delivered as a virtual workshop using Zoom or Microsoft Teams or in person for in-organisation delivery.
Who facilitates the workshop?
The POPIA Awareness Training Workshop is facilitated by John Cato or Dr Peter Tobin both of whom have privacy and data protection certifications as well as well in depth experience in this field.
Will I receive a certificate for the workshop?
An e-certificate of attendance will be provided for each delegate who completes the workshop.
What are the workshop costs?
Workshop costs are R 1,500.00 plus VAT per delegate. Second and subsequent bookings from the same organisation for the same delivery dates are at R 1,300.00 plus VAT per delegate.
When are the workshops held?
Workshops are held once a month or more frequently if there is sufficient demand.
